Kuckuck

(Pronounced Kookook) ... not Nuk Nuk, which is how Phil proudly announced it when ordering the Kuckuck dessert special. And of course that led to an embarrassing case of the Carlyle giggles which lasted long enough for us to feel we should leave the restaurant before they requested us to do so. An early start tomorrow as our train leaves for Bolzano at 6.14am!

    Yes, suddenly it made sense why the restaurant had several Cuckoo clocks on the walls! Oh, how embarrassing. :)

    Oh, you wacky Carlyles! Is laughing in Austria a crime? I remember our Austrian friends the Lang's said they were not like other Austrians - they had a sense of humour! So was Phil's pronunciation like the Three Stooges - "Ah knucklhead, nuk nuk, nuk?"
